How the Daily Grand draw works

Every Daily Grand draw picks 5 numbers out of 49 and a Grand Number from 1 to 7. On this site the main numbers are listed from lowest to highest and the Grand Number comes last, set apart from them.

The Grand Number is drawn separately, from 1 to 7. You pick it on your ticket next to your 5 main numbers. It can come out equal to one of that night’s main numbers, but it never counts in place of a main number.

A line wins according to how many of its numbers match, and the game conditions fix the prize for each level. The checker above counts the matches of one line; for a prize, the corporation where you bought the ticket has the final word.

Check the Grand Number on its own

Your Grand Number is compared only with the Grand Number drawn, never with the five main numbers. Each $3 Daily Grand play is one selection of five main numbers from 1 to 49 plus one Grand Number from 1 to 7, and each draw picks five different main numbers from 1 to 49 and, separately, one Grand Number from 1 to 7. The checker on this page has a box of its own for your Grand Number for that reason.

Daily Grand is the national game of Monday and Thursday evenings, so a Daily Grand ticket never matches a Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday result. The Grand Number alone is a winning line

A line with no main numbers but the right Grand Number still wins: the game conditions list it as level 0/5 + 1/1. All nine winning levels:

Two main numbers without the Grand Number win nothing, while the Grand Number on its own does. When the checker reports “No main number matches; the Grand Number matches”, keep the ticket: that is level 0/5 + 1/1. The conditions put the approximate odds of any prize at one in 6.8 per play, and of 5/5 + 1/1 at one in 13,348,188. The prize for each level is confirmed by the corporation that sold the ticket.

Before you claim a prize

A retailer’s terminal or the selling corporation’s winning numbers list gives the final answer for a Daily Grand ticket, so use one of them before you claim or discard it; the ENCORE and EXTRA add-ons played with it are not shown on this site.
